Replacing Styrofoam with Corrugated Honeycomb Interior Packaging
Grand + Benedicts (G+B) is excited to announce a new environmental initiative in partnership with renowned workwear brand Carhartt. Starting in fall 2024, all fixtures produced by G+B for Carhartt will feature a significant packaging upgrade by replacing Styrofoam with Corrugated Honeycomb interior packaging. This collaborative effort underscores the companies' shared commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. \"We are thrilled to team up with Carhartt on this initiative and are evaluating making this change for all packaging,\" said John Phillips, CEO at Grand + Benedicts. \"By switching to Corrugated Honeycomb packaging, we are taking a step toward reducing environmental impact while maintaining the quality and integrity of our fixtures during transportation.\" Advantages of Corrugated Honeycomb Packaging: • Sustainable Materials: Made from recycled materials and fully recyclable. • Environmental Efficiency: Optimizes space and lowers the carbon footprint during transportation. • Eco-Friendly Adhesive: Uses an eco-friendly, plant-based corn starch adhesive. • Energy Conservation: Requires less energy to produce compared to traditional packaging methods. • Waste Reduction: Eliminates Styrofoam, a non-biodegradable material that contributes to landfill waste and environmental pollution. This initiative not only enhances the sustainability of the packaging but also aligns with global efforts to reduce reliance on non-biodegradable materials. Recipients of these boxes can identify the new eco-friendly packaging by a special logo displayed on all shipping boxes.
Start a Green Committe
Grand + Benedicts is excited to announce the formation of a Green Committee, dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability within our organization. This committee will convene quarterly to evaluate the effectiveness of our recycling efforts, ensuring we comply with environmental standards and continually seek ways to improve. Beyond compliance, the Green Committee aims to identify innovative strategies to reduce waste, promote eco-friendly practices, and create a more sustainable workplace. By engaging employees at all levels, the committee hopes to inspire lasting behaviors that benefit both our organization and the planet. These quarterly meetings will serve as a platform for collaboration, idea-sharing, and tracking progress. Through these efforts, we anticipate not only minimizing our environmental impact but also boosting team morale, reducing costs, and setting an example of responsible business practices for the wider community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
